Coube-me a tarefa de o traduzir e de tentar englobar a intrincada e pol\u00e9mica hist\u00f3ria da mais famosa das amazonas num editorial, cuja primeira vers\u00e3o foi considerada impr\u00f3pria para consumo (podem l\u00ea-la <a href=\"http:\/\/porumpunhadodeimagens.blogspot.pt\/2013\/08\/dc-comics-uncut-6-mulher-maravilha-quem.html\" target=\"_blank\">aqui<\/a>). A que se segue \u00e9 a vers\u00e3o mais decorosa, que acabou por ser aprovada.<\/p>\n<style type=\"text\/css\"><!--\nP { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }A:link {  }\n--><\/style>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u00c0s mil maravilhas<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Embora parte integrante da trindade dos her\u00f3is da DC (na qual invariavelmente figura em destaque, devidamente acompanhada pelos outros dois \u00edcones Super-Homem e Batman), n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 injusto dizer que a Mulher-Maravilha \u00e9 bastante menos conhecida e compreendida que os seus dois companheiros pelo p\u00fablico em geral<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">O que n\u00e3o \u00e9 de admirar, tendo em conta que os puristas da personagem <span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span> que goza da afei\u00e7\u00e3o de alguns dos mais ferrenhos e dedicados f\u00e3s do mundo dos <i>comics<\/i> <span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014 consideram que <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">muitos <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">argumentistas<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> tamb\u00e9m n\u00e3o a compreendem <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">nem<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> sabem tratar com a devida justi\u00e7a. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Em defesa destes autores, h\u00e1 que dizer que a personagem tem origens <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">at\u00edpicas<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">debate-se com uma s\u00e9rie de contradi\u00e7\u00f5es que est\u00e3o na base do seu ser <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">e, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">directamente ou<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> por tabela, sofreu talvez o maior n\u00famero de crises de identidade de qualquer outro super-her\u00f3i: embaixadora, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">pacifista, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">guerreira, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">s\u00edmbolo sexual<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> deusa, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">porta-estandarte <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">do <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">feminis<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">mo <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">e <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u00edcone americano<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">. Quer sejam ou n\u00e3o actualmente reconhecidas, todas estas facetas e<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">m nada facilitam a tarefa de ir ao cerne da quest\u00e3o essencial <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u00e0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">abordagem <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">convincente a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> qualquer figura fict\u00edcia<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">: quem \u00e9 esta personagem? Quem \u00e9, afinal de contas, a Mulher-<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">M<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">aravilha? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Criada pelo psic\u00f3logo e escritor <b>William Moulton Marston<\/b>, que sentia haver uma lacuna por preencher no meio dos <i>comics<\/i>, a Mulher-Maravilha foi concebida como um novo tipo de super-her\u00f3i: uma mulher que triunfaria, n\u00e3o atrav\u00e9s da viol\u00eancia, mas do amor. Para criar a personagem, Marston inspirou-se nas mulheres emancipadas da sua vida, baseando-a nas caracter\u00edsticas a que elas davam corpo <span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span> e mesmo no guarda-roupa e nos acess\u00f3rios que uma delas usava, segundo reza a hist\u00f3ria. A ideia era conceber uma super-hero\u00edna que tivesse a for\u00e7a do Super-Homem e a complementasse com os encantos de uma mulher bela e s\u00e3 de esp\u00edrito<span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">uma personagem que servisse<\/span> como modelo positivo para as leitoras. Assim nasceu a Mulher-Maravilha, que se estreou no t\u00edtulo de antologia <i>All Star Comics<\/i> #8 (EUA, 1941), dando seguimento a essa estreia com uma aventura em <i>Sensation Comics <\/i>#1 (EUA, 1942), onde aparece pela primeira vez numa capa, antes de ganhar o seu pr\u00f3prio t\u00edtulo seis meses mais tarde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Originalmente, a Mulher-Maravilha era Diana, princesa de uma tribo de amazonas que residiam num matriarcado na chamada Ilha Para\u00edso, onde homem algum alguma vez assentara p\u00e9. Al\u00e9m de ser a campe\u00e3 de uma ra\u00e7a de mulheres j\u00e1 de si detentoras de atributos f\u00edsicos e ps\u00edquicos sobre-humanos, Diana fora moldada a partir de argila por Hip\u00f3lita, rainha das amazonas, e a deusa Afrodite concedera-lhe vida <span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span> uma hist\u00f3ria com assumidos paralelos com a de Pigmale\u00e3o, rei de Chipre, que esculpiu a mulher ideal e desejou de forma t\u00e3o ardente que ela vivesse, que Afrodite se compadeceu dele e concedeu vida \u00e0 est\u00e1tua. Quando um avi\u00e3o americano se despenha na Ilha Para\u00edso, Diana salva o piloto, naquele que \u00e9 o seu primeiro contacto com um homem, e apaixona-se por ele, voluntariando-se e ganhando posteriormente o direito de o levar de volta ao \u00abmundo do Homem\u00bb, ao vencer um desafio decretado pela sua m\u00e3e. A princesa segue ent\u00e3o com o piloto para os EUA, onde ganha pela primeira vez o cognome de \u00abMulher-Maravilha\u00bb e onde se torna num \u00edcone americano, vestida a rigor com as cores da bandeira ao combater ao lado do seu amado contra for\u00e7as nazis e, ocasionalmente, super-vil\u00f5es. As suas aventuras cedo lhe mereceram um lugar na Sociedade da Justi\u00e7a da Am\u00e9rica <span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span> o primeiro grupo de super-her\u00f3is da hist\u00f3ria dos <i>comics<\/i> <span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span> na qual, apesar de ser dos membros mais poderosos, recebeu de pronto o n\u00e3o l\u00e1 muito prestigiante t\u00edtulo de secret\u00e1ria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Na d\u00e9cada de 50, a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> Mulher-Maravilha<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> pass<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">ou<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> das m\u00e3os de Marston para as de <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>Robert Kanigher<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">que deu maior relev\u00e2ncia <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">o<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">s elementos hel\u00e9nicos e mitol\u00f3gicos<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> nas hist\u00f3rias da<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> personagem, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">cujos poderes se deviam agora explicitamente \u00e0s b\u00ean\u00e7\u00e3os dos deuses gregos<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">a beleza de Afrodite, a sabedoria de Atena, a celeridade de Hermes e a for\u00e7a de H\u00e9rcules. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Mas t<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">udo isso deixou de fazer diferen\u00e7a no <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">final do<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">s anos 60, altura na qual, salvo algumas excep\u00e7\u00f5es, a popularidade dos super-her\u00f3is estava em queda. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Em resposta ao <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><i>zeitgeist <\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">de ent\u00e3o e \u00e0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">s<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> s\u00e9ries televisivas de espi\u00f5es <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">que estavam em voga <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">como <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><i>Os Vingadores<\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">a <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Mulher-Maravilha <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">prescinde <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">d<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">os seus poderes, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">uniforme <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">e t\u00edtulo<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">assumindo em definitivo a identidade de Diana Prince e <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">tornando-se numa agente secreta \u00e0 imagem de Emma Peel. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">A<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">s hist\u00f3rias de guerra e super-vil\u00f5es deram lugar a aventuras de espionagem, artes marciais <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">e <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> num claro<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> sinal dos tempos <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> a abertura de uma butique de acess\u00f3rios <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">da subcultura <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><i>mod<\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Esta fase durou at\u00e9 ao in\u00edcio dos anos 70, quando a Mulher-Maravilha recuperou os seus poderes e voltou \u00e0 primeira forma, chegando ao ponto de regressar no tempo \u00e0 2\u00aa Guerra Mundial, como para matar saudades. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Esta reviravolta <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">d<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">eu-se muito<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> por culpa da activista feminista <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>Gloria Steinem<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, que crescera a ler a Mulher-Maravilha e que se insurgiu numa s\u00e9rie de artigos e ensaios contra a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">quilo que via como um rebaixar do estatuto<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> da mais famosa super-her<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">o\u00ed<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">na de todas. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Este regresso <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u00e0s origens<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> culminou com<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> uma s\u00e9rie de televis\u00e3o de culto, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">com a vistosa<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> Lynda Carter <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">no papel principal <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">(EUA, 1975)<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">naquela <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">que at\u00e9 hoje continua a ser a maior afirma\u00e7\u00e3o de notoriedade da personagem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Tudo viria a mudar novamente em 1985, na <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><i>Crise das Terras Infinitas <\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">(tamb\u00e9m a n\u00e3o perder nesta colec\u00e7\u00e3o). <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Neste evento sem precedentes, a DC Comics premiu o bot\u00e3o \u00abReiniciar\u00bb para todo o seu universo, e a Mulher-Maravilha n\u00e3o foi excep\u00e7\u00e3o, vendo novamente alterados v\u00e1rios aspectos da sua hist\u00f3ria, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">desta feita pela m\u00e3o do lend\u00e1rio <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>George P\u00e9rez<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">A <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">origem a partir da argila manteve-se, mas os deuses que concederam <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">os <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">poderes <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">a esta encarna\u00e7\u00e3o da personagem <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">eram algo diferentes: a beleza de Afrodite, a sabedoria de Atena, a habilidade de discernir a verdade de H\u00e9stia, a per\u00edcia na ca\u00e7a de Artemisa e a for\u00e7a de Dem\u00e9ter, que substituiu H\u00e9rcules <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">penas a celeridade de Hermes se manteve como contributo masculino papel da Mulher-Maravilha mudou, passando a ser<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> emiss\u00e1ria e embaixadora de Temiscira (o novo nome da Ilha Para\u00edso, baseado na cidade ancestral das amazonas da mitologia grega), <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">com<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"> a miss\u00e3o de promover a paz no mundo do patriarca, pronta a lutar por ela, caso necess\u00e1rio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Muita coisa aconteceu \u00e0 personagem desde ent\u00e3o, e este editorial n\u00e3o tem espa\u00e7o para <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">tanto<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, mas com o intuito de preparar o leitor para as hist\u00f3rias contidas neste tomo, bastar\u00e1 dizer que, no espa\u00e7o de quase trinta anos e entre uma s\u00e9rie de crises de identidade, a Mulher-Maravilha <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">encontrou uma tribo de amazonas rebeldes no M\u00e9dio-Oriente, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">foi substitu\u00edda, morta, promovida a deusa da verdade, destitu\u00edda do Olimpo, substitu\u00edda pela sua m\u00e3e Hip\u00f3lita, for\u00e7ada a assistir \u00e0 destrui\u00e7\u00e3o da Ilha Para\u00edso e obrigada a matar um homem a sangue-frio para salvar os seus companheiros. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">Situa\u00e7\u00f5es complicadas que certamente em nada ajudaram \u00e0 tarefa de <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>Phil Jimenez <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">e <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>Al<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>l<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\"><b>an Heinberg<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond,serif;\">, os escribas de servi\u00e7o nas duas hist\u00f3rias aqui apresentadas.
